The Ultimate Guide to a Spotless Home: Room-by-Room Tips

The secret to a consistently clean home isn’t effort — it’s order. Clean each room in the same sequence every time and nothing gets missed. Here’s the room-by-room method our teams use.

Kitchen

Dishes away first, then work top-down: cupboard fronts, splashback, benches, stovetop, sink last (it’s the dirtiest). Weekly: microwave inside, bin washed. Monthly: oven, fridge shelf rotation, rangehood filter.

Bathroom

Spray shower, toilet, and sink with cleaner first — let it work while you wipe the mirror and vanity. Then scrub in order: shower, sink, toilet last (dedicated cloth!). Finish with the floor. Weekly minimum; grout and screen descale monthly.

Bedrooms

Strip and remake beds, dust top-down (fan, sills, furniture), then vacuum including under the bed. Wash pillow protectors monthly and rotate the mattress each season.

Living areas

Declutter first — cleaning around clutter doubles the time. Dust electronics with a dry microfibre, vacuum upholstery weekly if you have pets, and hit skirting boards fortnightly.

Laundry and entry

The forgotten zones: washing machine seal, laundry sink, door mats (vacuum both sides), and the wall marks beside light switches.

The rhythm

Daily reset (10 min), weekly clean (60–90 min), monthly deep-clean one zone. Rotate zones and the whole house gets deep-cleaned quarterly without a single marathon day.
